These before and after photos show what a difference a little
imagination can make.
This 1980 bathroom had standard tub shower combo and 4x4
plain white tile in shower surround with white painted walls.
The tub was removed to make room for a luxuriously large shower with
a wrap around tile mural on the back wall, another mural under the
shower head, and a small accent border mural in the sink area
and white beadboard wainscoating finishes the cottage
look.

This is a photo of the kitchen where the Nantucket beach
backsplash mural pictured below was installed.

Many
homeowners are at a loss when it comes to wall tile design
ideas, & settle for basic solid background field designs.
Don't be afraid to blend colors, shapes, patterns,
and different types of stone with your tiles to create a
unique look for your home. Below are some nice (but not too
radical) designs I found on the Dal Tile web site for you to
consider.
